Planet Earth Market exists to help you find products that are actually better for the planet, not just marketed that way. Every brand in the marketplace is chosen and scored against the same sustainability and impact criteria, based on what's publicly documented, not on marketing copy.
Every product carries an impact scorecard across three categories, each on a 1-5 scale:
These scores are our own editorial judgment based on what each brand publicly discloses, they are not an independent lab certification, and a high score reflects transparency and credible third-party certification, not a guarantee of a product's full environmental footprint.
Most of the brands in the marketplace are also personally purchased and used by our editorial team before being featured. As the marketplace grows to cover more brands, some listings are added based on close research into a brand's certifications, materials, and public disclosures rather than firsthand use, we'll always be clear about which is which as we build that out. Either way, no brand pays for a favorable review or a better impact score.
Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links (see our Affiliate Disclosure). Whether a link is affiliated has no bearing on which products we choose to feature or how we score them.
